Electronic lock based Management System for Intelligent Manhole Cover
All the manhole covers of pipe network are spread outdoors. Under the manual management mode, the manhole covers are left in an uncontrollable state, and are stolen quite frequently. Even the communication cables and optical fibers in the pipe network have been maliciously cut off. All these are liable to cause traffic accidents. If the manhole covers are not protected, everyone can have access to the underground pipe network. Especially in recent years, as the construction of infrastructure accelerates, a lot of construction organizations have entered into the pipe networks to intentionally or unintentionally misappropriate resources or conduct transformation, without getting permission from the operators. It has resulted in the abuse of operator’s resources and the disorderly management.
At present, the pipe networks are mainly maintained manually. In case of the above-mentioned malicious events, people often fail to grasp the information immediately, which results in a long cycle for the settlement and the maintenance. The rigid defects hinders the improvement of work efficiency.
Electronic-lock-based Management System for Intelligent Manhole Cover
The manhole cover is equipped with the remotely-controlled electronic lock to protect the security of the cover. The electronic lock can be unlocked remotely under authorization.
The manhole cover monitor unit, developed based on the trajectory analysis and inclination detection, can monitor the motion state of manhole cover in real time. When the manhole cover is turned or moved, the unit will give an alarm and notify the monitor center immediately.
The intelligent manhole cover operation and maintenance platform is provided to unify the management of manhole covers by different urban sectors, achieve remote control and improve the efficiency of management and control.
Through the mobile APP, people can control the opening and closing of manhole cover remotely, monitor its condition, and receive alarm messages, so as to advance the maintenance management.
Electronic lock: Its main body is injection molded by nylon 1010. The lock bar and lock plug are made of 304 stainless steel or aluminum alloy. The stepping motor is used.
Lock control system: The lock can be remotely controlled to lock and unlock the manhole cover, and can automatically lock or unlock the manhole cover under the authorization by command or password on the scene.
Cover condition monitor: The manhole cover monitor unit, developed based on the trajectory analysis and inclination detection, can monitor the motion state of manhole cover in real time. When the manhole cover is turned or moved, the unit will give an alarm and notify the monitor center immediately.
Condition monitor platform: It provides the following functions including management of cover location map, cover assets management, real-time monitor of cover alarm, handling of cover failure, recording of cover inspection and so on. The regulatory authority can learn information, lay down management strategies, organize and arrange manpower, register the construction activities, carry out regional management and so on.
Mobile APP: The mobile APP is used to complete the registration of manhole covers, control the opening and closing of manhole cover locally and remotely, check the information about manhole cover, and receive alarm messages.
It offers a high strength and a high corrosion resistance. Besides, it is easy to install and convenient to overhaul. All these make it applicable to various environments.
It achieves wireless remote control, and supports NB-IOT and 2G\3G\4G networks. The locking and unlocking can be controlled remotely.
It adopts an ultra-low power consumption design. The NB-IOT communication module is used.
It can function reliably for over three years if being powered by batteries.
The patented mobile-APP-based remote control mode achieves a humanized operation. Mode of cover condition monitor: The holoaxial inclination is measured. Once the inclination comes to the threshold, alarm will be given.
It also provides the function of periodically reporting the soundness status. The reporting interval is settable.
In case of a low battery, alarm will be given.
